Several months ago, we had a week of prayer for revival.
Many times the question was asked “How do we reach
those others out there?” During that week, most in
the fellowship told how they believed the Lord was making
changes in them.
Well ……changes have happened, and are still
taking place.
At the beginning
of November 2006, we announced the start of the food cupboard.
As explained then, it was to be used by any member of the
fellowship who found themselves in need. In this way we
would be looking after our family. It would also be used
to supply anyone brought to our attention. These needs would
be met by members bringing in tins and packets, so if nothing
came in----nothing could go out.
David had
a great enthusiasm for this project, but then felt a growing
compassion for the need of young mothers with babies. Because
of these things we felt it right for David to join us in
administering the whole project, and as it is now encompassing
more than food, the food cupboard should be re-launched
as The Storehouse.
It must be
stressed that we are not trying to be an arm of Social Services
but we are endeavouring to show our faith in action. (James
2 v 15-17)
Hampshire
Youth Bureau deals mostly with the hungry and homeless in
the 16 to 25 year old age group, and during Christmas week
we were able to give them about 30 tins of assorted food
and various packets of pasta. Their reaction – “This
is just like Christmas.”
Thank you
all for your support of the food cupboard and we look forward
this New Year to your continuing support for the Storehouse.
For as long as we stay obedient to the Lord, He will continue
to bless our outreach.
